Just a few ingredients will be enough to make the recipe for Savory Parmesan Biscuits, which in a certain sense resemble Salted Cookies. Get the most classic ones, such as flour, butter, and eggs, add some freshly grated Parmesan cheese and some parsley, and you’re done.

Ingredients for around 13 biscuits:

  • 150 g flour 
  • 8 g baking powder
  • 50 g freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano
  • 1 egg
  • 80 g butter, softened
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley

Step-by-Step Instructions:

To prepare the Savory Parmesan Biscuits, mix the flour, baking powder, freshly grated cheese, salt, nutmeg, and dried parsley in a bowl.

Then add the egg and the softened butter and knead with your hands to obtain a fairly homogeneous dough with a consistency similar to a shortcrust pastry.

Remove portions of the dough with your hands and shape them into balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and press lightly to flatten.

Bake the savory cheese biscuits at 180°C ventilated for 15 minutes, then let them cool and serve.

Note:

You can substitute parsley with other fresh or dried herbs to taste. Oregano, for example, is perfect. If, on the other hand, you want a richer version, add dried fruit roughly chopped with a knife or dried tomatoes in oil to the mixture: you will feel what goodness!
