Hello my dear readers,

Last week we have discovered the peaches.

Today let’s see the calories, properties and health benefits.

In today’s post we will discover:

  • Peach properties
  • Calories of peaches
  • Health benefits of peaches
  • Contraindications

Made up of 90% of water, peaches are refreshing, purifying and even low-calorie.

Peaches are also mineralizing and tonic; in fact, they are among the richest foods in iron and also contain calcium, potassium and easily assimilated sugars.

For this reason they are perfect in the summer when it is necessary to be able to replenish the mineral salts lost through sweating.

Peaches also contain a lot of vitamin C and beta carotene which bring benefits to bones, eyes, skin and teeth and protect us from pollutants.

According to the rainbow of fruit and vegetables, peaches are part of the yellow and orange foods and have some of the properties and health benefits typical of the fruits that make up this group.

Peach properties

The fruits and vegetables of this color are usually rich in carotenoids, among which we find betacarotene, which our body converts into vitamin A. Vitamin A is useful for maintaining eye health and protecting the skin from free radicals and aging.

Peaches are rich in essential nutrients for our body and contain antioxidants that protect us from the negative effects of free radicals on our skin and on the organs of our body.

Peaches are an important source not only of vitamin A, beneficial during sun exposure, but also of vitamin C, which allows in particular to facilitate the absorption of iron.

Peaches have diuretic and purifying properties. The advice is to consume them fresh, for example in fruit salads and smoothies, but also in the preparation of light and healthy summer desserts.

We can also consider peaches as a source of mineral salts as well as vitamins. In fact, peaches contain many vital minerals, such as potassium and iron. Iron is important for the formation of red blood cells while potassium helps regulate heart rate and blood pressure.

Calories of peaches

Peaches are considered the perfect fruit for those who want to lose weight. Eating peaches in fact increases the sense of satiety thanks to their fiber richness and is beneficial for the hydration of the body.

In addition, a single peach, depending on the size, contains from 35 to 50 calories, the normal intake for a single fruit, as is the case, for example, for an apple.

The caloric intake of peaches however remains low. In fact 100 grams of peaches provide around 39 calories.

People suffering from gout and rheumatism can inquire at their doctor about the beneficial effects of peaches in feeding, since these fruits with their diuretic effect help eliminate toxins and excess fluids.

Peach is a tasty and refreshing fruit, it stimulates diuresis very well and contrasts constipation, as well as calming and relaxing the nervous system, therefore it also improves sleep

Finally, for those suffering from intestinal irregularities, it is good to know that peaches also have a slight laxative effect.

Contraindications

No important side effects are known related to the consumption of this fruit.

Peach ferments and therefore it would be better to consume it between meals because it could interfere with digestion.

It is recommended not to drink too much water when eating peaches because bloating may occur.

The core of this fruit is harmful, because it contains amygdalin, a substance toxic to the human body. In fact, when it comes into contact with the enzymes of the bacterial flora it generates negative effects.
