Hello my dear readers,
Wow! August already!

August is the 8th month of the year in the Gregorian Calendar and embraces the hottest period of the year, with the thermometer marking the highest temperatures. This traditionally makes it the ideal time to go on vacation. Oh, I miss my August holidays.
Formerly called sextilis, the month was renamed augustus by the Roman Senate, in the year 8 BC, in honor of the emperor Augustus.
In nature it marks the harvesting phase in particular of wheat, as suggested by the fact that the ancient Romans had consecrated the month to Ceres, goddess of crops and vegetation.
How was your July?
For me, it was a different month. After more than 2 and half years since this COVID-19 started, I’ve always managed to stay away from it, but in late July, I tested positive. I usually work from home, but we have a meeting in the office once per week. One day after the meeting, 2 colleagues tested positive, a few days later, my husband tested positive (having attended the same meeting), and just a few days after, I tested positive too. I thought it would be something easy, but it changed my routine badly. The several days of high fever put me on stop completely, without being able to do anything. No work, no cooking, no fitness, no going outside, and worst of all, no resting because I couldn’t close my eyes. It is strange to feel tired, without energy, but not being able to rest. Oh well, that was strange! Now I’m still positive, but I feel that slowly I get my energy back. I hope in a few days I’ll be back to normal.
My book for July?
In July I’ve read a lovely mystery book called A Three Dog Problem by S.J. Bennett.

A Three Dog Problem is part of Her Majesty The Queen Investigates series and is a great book to read when you want something easy, cosy and mysterious.
Synopsis:
Queen Elizabeth II is having a royal nightmare. A referendum divides the nation, a tumultuous election grips the United States and the body of a staff member is found dead beside the palace swimming pool.
Is it a tragic accident, as the police think? Or is something more sinister going on? Sometimes, it takes a Queen’s eye to see connections where no one else can…
A really lovely book!
What are your plan for August? Will you take a break and enjoy a holiday? For me no holiday in August, but I’ll try to take it easy.
Wish you all a wonderful August, filled with health, happiness, love and lots of accomplishments.
