Conchiglie Pasta With Tuna and Olives in Tomatoes Sauce

Ready for another super easy pasta dish?

Sometimes back I have shared with you Penne with Tuna and Olives. A super easy and tasty recipe.

Well, if we change the pasta type and add tomatoes sauce we will get a different dish but equally delicious.

Let’s see what we need for 2 servings:

  • 200g conchiglie pasta
  • 1 tuna can in extra virgin olive oil (120g)
  • around 10 Kalamata olives
  • 200g tomatoes sauce
  • 20 g of freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt and pepper

How to do it:

Start with the sauce.

In a pan put the extra virgin olive oil, the olives, the drained tuna and tomatoes sauce, season with salt and pepper, and let it sizzle for 2-3 minutes then remove from the heat.

Sauce done.

Tuna, olive and tomatoes sauce

Now is time to cook the pasta.

I’ve used conchiglie this time, but you may use whatever pasta you have, preferably short pasta.

Begin heating a large pot of water for the pasta. When the water for the pasta comes to a boil, add a generous tablespoon of salt and the pasta. Cook al dente, or until firm to the bite, following the cooking instructions on the package but checking the pasta a minute or two before the indicated time, you don’t want to overcook it.

When the pasta is al dente, drain and add the sauce and the grated parmesan.

Toss everything together and serve.

There’s something about fish and pasta that makes me and my husband back off… in a good day I should try this recipes, see if it can change our minds 😁

When you decide to try, try tuna as is the one less fishy! A very simple combination is tuna, extra virgin olive oil, olives and cappers 😋 the combination is really perfect for the pasta 😉 and with tomatoes is really flavorful 😉 If you try it, I’m sure you’ll like it 😉 I wish I could make it for you 🤗😉

      1. Jessica Avatar

Well to be honest I cooked it with tuna but I guess it was not with the right procedure and another extra ingredients. I will try this and share my opinion again…
And the thought of you making it for me taste warms my heart thank you ☺🤗

      2. popsiclesociety Avatar

Make sure you don’t use the oil from the tuna can 😉 and don’t use the tuna in water either 😉
I really wish we could be nearer so that you could taste some of my delicious cooking 🤪…hahah…me being very modest now 🤪🤪

Hahaha 😄 I love how you love your cooking. You really remind me of a good friend here in Spain. She loves cooking too and will often feed me so much. 😂
I see maybe that’s where my mistake started. I used the whole box with its liquid

      4. popsiclesociety Avatar

I like seeing people enjoying food 😉🤗 is nice to surround yourself with people that like to feed you 😂🤩
Ooooppppssss….never use the liquid water or oil from the cans 😉

      5. Jessica Avatar

Noted. I thought it was okay. Hence, it failed haha 😄

I’ve never been a fan of tuna, but this looks really good! I might like tuna if it was with pasta. 🙂

Yes Pasta does not go with fish taste usually. Fish is something that can be enjoyed in certain ways like 1. Boiled in courses with vegetables, 2. Fish and Chips and 3. Sweet and sour that goes with rice. Thank you for sharing so much of various ways of making different shapes of pasta as well 🙂

    1. popsiclesociety Avatar

Pasta goes with everything 😉 meat, veggies, cheese, fish…there are infinite ways of enjoying a good pasta dish 😉
