Hello my dear readers,
First off, apologies for the radio silence these past few months—life has a way of keeping me busy, and time just slipped away. But I’m back with a quick August update!
We kicked off the month with a trip to Hua Hin for my husband’s birthday. Just days after returning from Italy, we were back at the airport, heading to Bangkok, and then a scenic drive to Hua Hin, a gem on the Thai Riviera.
Hua Hin is not just a beautiful beach town; it’s a golfer’s paradise. My husband, being a golf enthusiast, couldn’t have been happier when I surprised him with two rounds of golf at some of Southeast Asia’s top courses. We started at Black Mountain Golf Club, a stunning course nestled in a valley surrounded by towering black granite mountains. This course is famous for hosting several major golf tournaments, including the Asian PGA Tour events and the Europe vs. Asia Royal Trophy.
Next, we played at Pineapple Valley Golf Club, which offers a unique experience as it’s built on a former pineapple plantation. This course has quickly risen to fame, earning accolades such as the 2009 Best New Course in Asia-Pacific. The combination of challenging holes and breathtaking scenery made it a memorable round of golf.
While I’m still a novice at golf, I absolutely loved being out in nature. There’s something incredibly relaxing about walking the greens, surrounded by stunning landscapes, even if it’s technically exercise.
And to top it all off, the resort staff treated us to not one, but two birthday cakes, along with a free flow of prosecco—because, of course, we’re Italian!
In short, our Hua Hin adventure was a perfect celebration and a total success! 🏌️♂️🌴🎂🍾

How was Phuket in August? Well, it was a mix of sunshine and showers. We had some beautiful days, but the rain wasn’t shy either. Flooding was on the agenda (thankfully not at our place), and sadly, a landslide claimed 13 lives. Here are a few snapshots from this eventful month:

And because one trip just wasn’t enough for the month, another business opportunity came up, and off we went to Shanghai. But this wasn’t just any flight—it was my first time flying in business class. Oh wow, what a game-changer! It’s like a 5-star hotel in the sky, complete with gourmet meals, cocktails, champagne, and the ability to actually lie down. I finally understand why it costs a small fortune!
I’m afraid I might be ruined for economy class now. Here are some photos—though not many from Shanghai, as our whirlwind 1.5-day stay was mostly spent in a car between meetings. But as always, Shanghai was hectic yet beautiful!

I spent some time in the kitchen whipping up our usual meals, but nothing new—except for one recipe I love that I gave a little twist. I’m hoping to share it with you soon!
So that was my August! How about yours? Any exciting adventures?
Now, here comes September! Can you believe it’s already here? They say September brings even more rain to Phuket—fingers crossed for no more flooding or landslides! Not sure what the travel agenda holds, but I’m sure it’ll be busy.
Stay safe out there, but don’t forget to add a little adventure to your life! It doesn’t have to be grand or expensive—sometimes, it’s as simple as taking a stroll down a new street or trying a veggie you’ve never had before. Life is too short not to savor every moment, so go out there and enjoy it!
