Middle Eastern Cuisine

Hello my dear readers,

Last Sunday since was raining we stayed at home and enjoyed a few delicious Middle Eastern dishes.

Nope, I did not cook at home but we have ordered a takeaway from Kazbar restaurant.

Funny or not, we’ve never been in the restaurant but we’ve always ordered takeaways 😉 But the restaurant looks really pretty, so one day, we’ll enjoy it in person 😉

I love eggplants and when I have Middle Eastern dishes I will always have Babaghanoush, the dish is made from mashed cooked eggplant mixed with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, and various seasonings and topped with pomegranate.

Babaghanoush – my favorite 😋

Of course hummus is a must too 😉…made from cooked, mashed chickpeas blended with tahini, lemon juice, and garlic and topped with olive oil.

Kofta Dijaj (Chicken) Charcoal Grilled is grilled minced chicken flavoured with spices, garlic and herbs cooked over the charcoal grill. Served with saffron rice and salad.

This is my favourite takeaway from when this COVID-19 situation started.

Our friend Huguette could advise if are authentic dishes or not.

What is your favorite takeaway?

Have a wonderful weekend!

Alway remember to treat yourself well 😉

This sounds Tunisian if i’m not mistaken 🙈 Glad you enjoyed them~ 💖🙈 i love eggplants too and we have a similar dish in morocco but with tomato added but without tahini or pomagranate~ it’s called Zaalouk and is super easy to make! I hope you try it~💖🙈

Not my favourite cuisine, but you make it look appetising. As you know, my favourite food is Indian, but we do have a preferred Chinese takeaway, which, here, beats the Indians

Middle Eastern cuisine has an interesting combination of spices exactly as Indian cuisine has too 😉 but yes, both have different flavors 😋 Sometimes Chinese takeaway is good too 😉 🥡🥢

I love hummus, I normally eat carrots dipped in some!

    1. popsiclesociety Avatar

Oh yes, the crunchy of the carrots and the creaminess of the hummus! Perfect combination 😉😋

Oh man I want Hummus now 😂 What Middle eastern sweets did you try??

    1. popsiclesociety Avatar

Hahaha…very good 😋 Honestly no sweets 👀 I guess I must repeat the experience and add some sweets too 🤩 What will you recommend? 😆

      1. Nour R. Avatar

Baklawe…asabe Zainab..Knafeh…Atayef (only in Ramadan tho)…Nutella Knafeh…but they’re all fairly sweet. I don’t think we have something somewhat bitter tbh 😂 there’s a lot of other sweets but they include fruit and cream and things I don’t like but it depends on you!

      2. popsiclesociety Avatar

Oh yum! Baklawe is like the Turkish baklava? I believe is delicious 😋 When I’ll have occasion I’ll definitely try them 😉😋 Thank you very much ☺️😉🤩

Yup! Haven’t had one in quite some time :3 my pleasure <3
