  1. Mmmmmm, love it.

Btw I didn’t like any potato salad I’ve tried in Germany, though they have excellent potato. I find it too strong, too sour, they put too much vinegar here.
We have it too in Serbia, and it’s very simple but much milder. Leek (instead of onions, much better taste…lots), salt, pepper and lemon juice. We eat it with fish.

      1. Yes.
We have it too, but ours takes a long time to make (no vinegar). You put cabbage in salty water in winter (needs to be cold) and wait a couple months. The cabbage turns sour with time. Then you make sour cabbage or salad. All natural, very tasty.
The one with vinegar makes no sense to me because it’s both sweet and sour. Time is crucial. With time it’s perfectly sour.

      2. Back home I remember my grandma used to do it the same in the winter months! Cabbage, water and salt for a few months and then we used to eat it seasoned just with a little bit of oil…was delicious πŸ˜‹
She used to do the full cabbage that we used to make cabbage rolls or called β€œsarmale” and also shredded cabbage that we used to it as a salad or make stuffed peppers with it πŸ˜‹ super delicious πŸ˜‹
