Friday Funday

Hello my dear readers,

Another week has gone and I hope you are all ok.

Mine was a shitty week but shitty things happens all the time.

I need to remind myself that the end of something doesn’t mean necessarily something negative, actually most of the time means the beginning of something new and exciting, so cheers to that πŸ₯‚

Cheers to new beginning!

I wish you all a wonderful weekend!

And please stay at home and stay safe!

  1. This is the first time I’ve seen you use the colorful word β€œshitty.” This is probably the first unhappy post I’ve seen from you as well… I’m sorry that you are struggling right now, Ribana. This was literally my week last week. Things will get better with time. Enjoy some Kaya jam on toast and an iced Milo this weekend. Sending you hugs! β™₯️

    1. Thank you Hilary! Bad things happens all the time but we try as much as we can to move forward and learn something from each experience good or bad…
Now that you’ve mentioned…is a long time I did not eat a kaya toast…I guess is the perfect time to get some πŸ˜‰
Thank you again Hilary! Lots of love and hugs to you as well! Stay always strong! πŸ€—πŸ’•πŸ’ͺ🏻

      1. I happen to have some Kaya in my cupboard which came all the way from Singapore. They happen to sell it at the Asian supermarkets in Canada but it’s not the reduced-sugar variety. Whenever I eat Kaya jam, it brings back happy memories. It’s really yummy with apple slices! Whenever I’m having a bad day, I try to do something that makes me happy. Usually it’s food related, but not always.

      2. That’s great! Wow, directly from Singapore πŸ˜‰ I usually don’t have it at home as is a little bit too sweet for me but sometimes is perfect for a morning breakfast or snack during the day πŸ˜‰ Honestly I did not notice they have a reduced-sugar variety…
Usually food that we like is making our day better πŸ˜‰

      3. Yes, my husband’s grandfather went to Singapore and brought it back during the Christmas break. I also have one jar of Durian Kaya left. I do not recommend sugar-free Kaya because it might cause tummy issues. I can’t see my to find the reduced sugar variety here (it’s either full sugar or sugar-free). Nick’s family is Singaporean, even though his was born and raised in Canada πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

      4. Yes, I remember your husband’s family is from Singapore! Great that even if they moved so long ago they still come back and enjoy their country and their food πŸ˜‰ It is a beautiful city and has particular foods πŸ˜‰ I’m here for quite a while now and I still didn’t get used with durian….😷

  2. Must be bad if you are visibly swearing Ribana … try to keep smiling – l am just an email away if you want to really explode and don’t want to publish that explosion πŸ™‚ [Ps – l love it when a woman talks dirty] See gotta smile πŸ™‚

    Take care and keep sane.

    1. I guess sometimes I reach my limits πŸ€ͺ and is good to just let go out πŸ€ͺ
Thank you very much Rory for your support! I’m so grateful I’ve started blogging as it helped me know people like you, that even if we never met in person, the support, connection and solidarity means much more than any physical connection…A positive side of the internet πŸ˜‰
Thank you again Rory! Very appreciated!
Lots of love and hugs to both of you πŸ’•πŸ§ΈπŸ€— Stay strong and sane indeed πŸ˜‰πŸ€—πŸ§Έ

  3. I adore that clip of Ina with an enormous cocktail glass! I’d love to have her round for dinner. She’s always cooking for everyone else and I think she’d really appreciate the invite. But what to cook?

    1. I’m glad you like it! Ina is pretty awesome! I guess she’ll enjoy something simple but made with love πŸ˜‰πŸ’• a typical recipe of your kitchen πŸ˜‰

  4. Stay safe Ribanna ✨ Counts around the world are scary, we should not lose our hope and stay strong. Happy Fridayβœ¨πŸ˜‰πŸ’β˜ΊοΈ Lovely GIF. πŸ₯°πŸ˜

  6. Friday afternoon I totally hit the wall, so I signed off work for the day, got some carbs, and watched The Blues Brothers with my daughter. It was a good call.
