Hello my dear readers,
February is the month of love. Even if in my opinion every month of the year should be the month of love, not only February π,Β as we should express our love and appreciation every single day πΒ We all deserve it ππ
However, if you want to surprise your Valentine these days or whatever day or every day, you may try to prepare these amazingly simply but super delicious and fluffy heart shaped pancakes.
Ingredients for around 15 pancakes:
- 1 egg
- 200 ml milk
- 8 g baking powder
- 140 g flour
- 1 pinch of salt
- 20 g sugar
- 30 g melted butter
- zest of one orange
How to do it:
In a bowl mix the egg and the milk.
In another bowl mix the flour, baking powder, sugar and a pinch of salt.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, add the melted butter and the orange zest and mix well with a wire whisk until smooth.
The consistency must be creamy but not too liquid and not too thick. It has to be thick but able to run slowly and nicely off of the spoon.
I’m using a pancake heart shaped mold. You may find it on my Popsicle Society Shop in different shapes.
Preheat your non stickΒ pan or griddleΒ on medium heat first. Once itβs hot, lower the heat down to low-medium heat. Lightly grease the pan with a small amount of butter, even if you’re using a non stick pan, and wipe away any excess butter with a sheet of paper towel. Put the pancake mold in your pan if you’re using one and pour or scoop the batter onto it. If you’re not using a pancake mold then start pouring from the middle, then continue pouring slowly in a circular motion so that theΒ batter spreads into perfect round shapes.
Allow theΒ pancakes to cook properly and donβt rush them on high heat, or flip them too early. Let thatΒ under-side cook to a beautifulΒ golden brown colour, and whenΒ bubbles start forming on top and around the surface, they are ready to flip.
If you’re using the pancake mold just flip it on the other side, otherwise grab a good, plastic spatula and slide it underneath the pancake and flip it.
Let them cook for another 30 seconds and your pancakes are ready.
These are everything you want in a pancake. Theyβre simple, easy, quick, soft and so fluffy! Each mouthful melts in your mouth! Serve with maple sirup and fresh fruits.
Simply perfection!
