Singapore is a city in a garden. Everywhere you go, everywhere you look, there’s a lot of green. Is really like living in a garden.
Singapore Botanic Gardens is a 158-year-old tropical garden. Is the first and only tropical botanic garden on the UNESCO’s World Heritage List. It is the first in Asia and the third botanic gardens inscribed in the world following Orto botanico di Padova and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
Singapore’s botanic gardens is the only one in the world that opens from 5 a.m. to 12 midnight every day of the year. More than 10,000 species of flora is spread over its 82-hectares area, which is stretched vertically; the longest distance between the northern and southern ends is 2.5 km (1.6 mi). The Botanic Gardens receives about 4.5 million visitors annually. And you know what? The entrance is free.
You can find black and white swans, turtles, monkeys, squirrels, otters…Some squirrels will also pose for you like this one did for me..:)
It is perfect for a walk in the heart of the city when you need some tranquility.
Wonderful gardens and how brilliant to be able to go in from 5am until midnight. I’m very lucky to live near Kew Gardens – but entry isn’t until 10am and it closes at dusk.
Yes they open early and close late because there are a lot of people jogging in the park…and since during the day from 7am to 7pm is too hot they go or early in the morning or late in the evening…😊
Wow
Wish I was there now. Beautiful.
Beautiful pictures!!!! Thank you.
A truly beautiful place, and wonderful post! Thank you.
Breathtaking photos! I visited the gardens several years back and definitely remember the squirrels!
The gardens sound wonderful – and it’s amazing that they are open from 5 am until midnight.
Super photos. I have visited the gardens — lucky me.
