Mojito cocktail at home

Living in a hot and humid climate all year round, I’m always in a need of something refreshing.

In my little green corner I have a mint plant that has a special use for Mojito cocktail.

A few notes on the history of this cocktail born in the 1930s and symbol of Cuba, together with the Daiquiri:

Mojito became famous thanks to the writer Ernest Hemingway, who stayed in Cuba in the 1950s and used to drink the Mojito at the famous local La Bodeguita del Medio.

The ingredients of the Mojito are very simple (white rum, lime, brown sugar, soda, mint); for the success of the cocktail all the ingredients must be of good quality: choose fresh mint as it plays a decisive role, as does the rum.

It seems that the name Mojito derives from the voodoo term “Mojo” (spell) and therefore means small spell.

Never miss a recipe!
