And back to the routine

Hello my dear readers,

It has been a while…How are you? I hope your new year started well!

I am the kind of person that is functioning based on a daily routine, but sometimes I do like to break it and a travel is the perfect way to turn it upside down.

As you all know, this Christmas we went back home to Italy. Was great spending time with family after several years, but after two weeks I was glad to get back to my daily routine.

It is amazing however how easy we adapt to different environments and routines…

I have a pretty active day here in Singapore…I woke up at 5:30am every morning and go to the gym. After shower, breakfast and 50 minutes commute, at 8:30am I’m in the office. I return back home at 7pm, and between cooking dinner, groceries, laundry, cleaning the house and sometimes blogging, my day is full, ending somewhere around 11pm that I’m death asleep…

In Italy, my routine was pretty much doing nothing except eating and some strolls into the city…very different, but my body adapted to it immediately becoming pretty lazy…

I’m not on a diet and I never was, but living always in summer, beside a copious breakfast made from fruits, eggs, cereals and cappuccino, my daily lunch is usually a big salad with different proteins: tuna, chicken, ham, cheese or quinoa, and dinner just one main dish: fish, meat or tofu with veggies, and plenty of fruits during the day, but back in Italy we had breakfast usually with brioche and cappuccino, lunch with antipasti, first and second course, and dessert of course, then dinner again with antipasti, first and second course and dessert of course…

…let’s say that what I have eaten in Italy in one day, I eat in Singapore in probably 3 days…

I’m not used anymore to eat so much but guess what, in just a few days my body adapted to it without problems…luckily were only 2 weeks and I’ve skipped 2-3 times dinner, otherwise I would have returned to Singapore with several more kilos…

We’ve come back to Singapore on Tuesday evening and after more than 14 hours of travel, 7 hours time difference, on Wednesday morning at 5:30am I was in the gym, re-starting my usual routine…

I must admit it though, that is really tough after 2 weeks of laziness to get back to an active daily routine…still need to get used to it, my body is trying to fight it and is demanding more food of course, but I have realized again that everything is depending on me! If my mind is saying “yes, you can do it”, I can do it no matter how difficult it is!

For some may be a silliness but don’t be fooled as is always a change. Whatever you decide to change in your daily routine, will have certain effects on you and may not be always easy but be always positive, is for your well being and you can always do it even when it seems you can’t!

I’m back to my working routine which is pretty traumatic after holidays, although I have worked during my holidays too, but I still have to get back to my blogging routine and restart my Discovering our food and Discovering our world series…but please bear with me…I’ll start working on them soon 😉

Long story short: YOU CAN!

How is your restart after holidays?

What do you do to get back on track?

I would love to know 😉

Bye bye for now!

Wish you a wonderful weekend!
