What Took You So Long?

Hello my dear readers,

I have just finished reading What Took You So Long? by Jessica E. Larsen.

I guess, you all know Jessica by now. She is an author, a blogger, a wife, a mom of an adorable almost three years old boy, a full time dreamer and of course a lovely romantic lady.

She writes both in English and Taglish, Filipino language, and has quite a few published books.

Reading is one of my hobbies and my usual genre is thriller-noir, but this book threw me back at my pre-teen age, when my sister, 10 years older than me and my mom, had the house full of Danielle Steel’s romance novels, but they did not allow me to read them. They used to say that I’m too young for these kind of books.

And when you are a kid and your siblings or parents tell you to not do something, what do you do? Of course you do it!

I’ve used to take one book at the time and read them when my sis and my mom were not around.

Oh my, I fell in love with Danielle Steel’s romance novels. I used to laugh, cry and feel excited together with the characters of each book. I used to feel their passion.

And the same feeling of love and exitment I had it by reading Jessica’s book, What Took You So Long?

Description by Jessica E. Larsen:

Ready to take on the world, Milky Valdez moves to Madrid to carve out a life and a career for herself, away from the stifling help of her well-meaning, affluent parents. Still young and inexperienced with men, she is shocked when she meets Luke, her handsome, womanizing neighbor, who leads a hedonistic lifestyle as a music producer.

Despite their differences, the two strike up an unlikely friendship.

Milky’s new world changes when she overhears a conversation that leads her to make a rash decision. Giving up her virginity to a friend seems like the easy option, but when she finds out what Luke has given up for her in return, she realizes just how big a risk she’s taking.
