A little change in the routine – Eating out in Singapore

Hello my dear readers,

If you are one of my usual readers you will know by now that Saturday is the recipe day, but today is different.

I’m not in the mood of cooking nowadays…actually to be honest I cook every day but I don’t have time or will to make any photos of my dishes.

We eat as per normal, a little bit of everything, I prepare the mix salad for lunch everyday and I cook dinner every day but I’m really not in the mood to prepare the dishes for the photoshoot.

The downside of living in a city state like Singapore is that in this situation like Coronavirus, with the airport closed, the only place where we can travel is around the city.

For us that we’re very used to travel, especially my husband that was used to have at least one trip per month, some months even 3-4, is quite difficult to suddenly stop, being able to travel only 4-5 km around the city.

In order to change something, to get out of the usual routine work-home, and to not go crazy, we try to enjoy as much as we can the city and eating out.

Last weekend we’ve enjoyed a good Mediterranean Turkish cuisine in a little but cozy restaurant located in Holland Village in Singapore, just a few subway stops away from our place.

The restaurant is called The Mediterranean Deli Turk, where chef Ahmet is preparing and serving super delicious Turkish dishes.

I’m a very big lover of eggplant salad so I had grilled mashed eggplants with stewed beef called in Turkish Hunkar Begendi.

I even cannot describe how delicious it was. Those mashed eggplants were very cheese and the beef stew it was simply melting in my mouth.

I’m not a big fan of lamb, actually I never eat it, but my husband likes it very much so he tried the rack of lamb or Kuzu Pirzola. Honestly it looked too good to not try it so I had a little taste, it was so moist, grilled to perfection and it did not had any “strange smell or taste of lamb” how I call it.

And of course, one cannot go into a Turkish restaurant without trying the Baklava, a Turkish phyllo pastry sweet with honey and dried walnuts topped with pistachios.

Honestly, even if I’m a foodie, I like to eat and try new cuisines, but when eating out, I’m very shy in taking the pictures 🤪 I don’t know why but this is me, so please excuse my poor quality photos.

But I hope it gives you some ideas of what you can eat if you are in the mood of trying something new 😉

I like this little change in our routine. If you are bored, if you are like us, stuck in a city state without being able to travel, try to change something in your routine, it will help you not go crazy 🤪

I like to enjoy these small things 😉

Have a wonderful weekend!
