Hello November

Hello my dear readers,

And just like that, it is November.

Hello November

Where did October go? How was it?

I don’t really know as I have worked and worked, and had medical visits, and worked some more, and studied a little bit, worked some more, and then was gone.

I’m not a Halloween person because it is too scary for me, but we were to a Halloween-themed dinner last night and enjoyed some “scary” treats.

This month I have been working on a few interesting recipes that you can find them below.

Peanut Butter Banana Dogs With Homemade Raspberries Jam
Cuban Style Imperial Rice With Chicken, Ham, and Cheese
Gluten-Free Quinoa Bread Buns
Indulgent Quinoa Cookies With Almonds And Dark Chocolate
Healthy Superfood Chia Pudding With Yogurt and Blackberries
Kale, Avocado and Pear Green Smoothie
Lemon-Infused White Chocolate Truffles

My readings in October

I’m plodding this period at reading, but I have managed to read The Women at Hitler’s Table by Rosella Postorino.

Thinking that I complain about my work, and these women in East Prussia, back in 1943, risked their lives two times per day by filling their belly with delicious vegetarian food, but with the knowledge that every bite might be their last.

It is a disturbing but powerful novel, inspired by the true story of Hitler’s food tasters, and I think it may be the same story of other people nowadays that share the same fate, but maybe in different circumstances.

If you were offered a job to be a food taster, knowing that your every bite might be your last, would you do it?

Something else that impressed me was people’s dedication. Just read below how was supposed to be done a “mighty Heil Hitler!”.

So this was my October.

How was yours? Have you managed to realise your goals?

November is a special month for me as it is my birthday. We usually celebrate it in Hong Kong, but this will be the second year that we can’t travel, so we’ll probably indulge in some delicious food somewhere around Singapore. My November goals? I guess maybe:

Work a little less, be healthy, happy, stay in shape, enjoy nature, and blogging!

Wish you a wonderful month filled with happiness, health and lots of goal achievements, whatever your goals may be.
