Hello March

Hello my dear readers,

Another month has passed by already, and March is here.

Hello March

How was your February?

For me, was a busy month. Office work, kitchen work, home work and February was gone.

The good thing is that between all the work, I have managed to read a book, so I’m still keeping my deal I made with myself to read at least one book per month.

In February I’ve enjoyed Anxious People by Fredrik Backman.

Anxious People by Fredrik Backman

“The truth, of course, is that if people really were as happy as they look on the internet, they wouldn’t spend so much damn time on the internet, because no one who’s having a really good day spends half of it taking pictures of themselves. Anyone can nurture a myth about their life if they have enough manure, so if the grass looks greener on the other side of the fence, that’s probably because it’s full of shit. Not that that really makes much difference, because now we’ve learned that every day needs to be special. Every day.”

– a passage from anxious people by fredrik backman

Isn’t this beautifully said? And it is so right!

Synopsis of the book:

This book is a poignant comedy about a crime that never took place, a would-be bank robber who disappears into thin air, and eight extremely anxious strangers who find they have more in common than they ever imagined.

It is a funny story that makes you laugh-out-loud sometimes.

For the cooking part, I share some of the recipes that I’ve enjoyed preparing:

Brioche French Toast
Easy Homemade Chili
Mai Tai Cocktail

Wish you all a wonderful March, filled with health, happiness, love and lots of accomplishments.

March is the month of SPRING, when nature awakens and everything comes back to life. SPRING is a perfect time to celebrate new beginnings and growth in our own lives.

Welcome Spring

  1. Happy March! I haven’t read that book but I love that paragraph and totally agree!! “The truth, of course, is that if people really were as happy as they look on the internet, they wouldn’t spend so much damn time on the internet, because no one who’s having a really good day spends half of it taking pictures of themselves.” YES yes yes!!

  2. Happy March to you to Ribana. I have read a few books by Frederik Bachman but not this one. Now I will. We saw him interviewed in the town near us. The local independent bookstore had hosted the evening in a small theatre. It was fabulous. He is self effacing and honest and has a good sense of humor.

  3. Happy March to you Ribana 🙂 Reading one book per month is a fantastic initiative! Every time I finish an amazing book, I think the same thing: Why don’t I do this more often? It’s really not that hard! I hate to be blunt, but reading more books often comes down to watching less Netflix, at least in my case! Thanks for sharing and have a good day 🙂 Aiva xx

    1. Thank you dear Aiva! The books give us so many wonderful adventures 😉 Honestly, I prefer reading a book than watching Netflix ☺️
Wish you a wonderful and adventurous month ahead 😉🌸
