In the mood for a healthy snack

It is save to say that from when I’ve started my first ever baking classes, I did not do a single cookie or any sweets at home.

First of all, I do enjoy baking but I’m not a big sweet eater, I prefer watching the others enjoying my bakings ☺️

Second, with all that bakings during the baking classes, I always ended up going home with 2 bags full of sweets.

So yes, definitely I was not in a need to bake more sweets at home.

But the other day, I’ve took half day off work because I needed to settle some things and I was at home earlier and I was in the mood for a delicious but healthy snack.

The good thing when you’re at home and you’re craving for a snack is that you have the fridge at your disposal.

Nope, I don’t have a dog in the fridge 🐶 and I don’t usually store too much food inside my fridge because I want to avoid food waste, but some essential things I always have like plain natural yogurt, chia seeds and fresh fruits.

So here’s my super easy, delicious and healthy snack.

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 tablespoons of natural plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon of chia seeds
  • Fresh fruits (apple, blueberries)

Directions

Put the natural plain Greek yogurt and the chia seeds in a bowl, mix it well and leave it for around 5 minutes in the fridge.

Cut the apple in small pieces and together with the blueberries add on top of the yogurt.

That’s pretty much it!

Enjoy it!

  1. If you like chia seeds and yogurt, then I highly recommend chia seed pudding served with fresh fruit. It’s so easy to make too! I use oat milk (any milk works, including coconut), chia seeds, a little maple syrup or coconut sugar, and a tiny bit of vanilla extract. I leave the mixture in the fridge overnight and it’s ready to eat by morning! ♥

    1. Thank you very much Hilary! I have tried it with coconut milk and is really a wonderful way to start the morning ☺️ So simple, yet so delicious and healthy too 😁

  2. Love it.

The first thing we do when we get up is drink a smoothie – fruit, Balkan-style yogurt, honey, and nuts. My son is so used to it, it’s the first thing he asks for in the morning. He’s been drinking it ever since he was 3, or earlier. And yes, he loves dark chocolate only. 75 procent cocoa or more. He finds milk ones disgusting. Cross my heart.

    1. They don’t! Chia seeds have a neutral flavor and goes very well with yogurt! In fact if you do chia seeds pudding the flavor is given by the kind of milk you use: coconut, oat or any milk…😉
