More baking classes, more fun

Hello my dear readers,

Another week is here and is the last week of January 2021. It is incredible how fast the time goes by.

I remember when I’ve registered for my first ever baking classes and now I’m almost at the end of the training.

Last Sunday I had another 2 baking sessions and we have learned the basics of blending in quick bread making and we have done sweet and savoury scones and banana bread.

I have never tried before to make scones, but are really easy to make and are very tasty.

But first, look at this gorgeous colour of this KitchenAid. What a beauty!

Then, we have learned the basics of creaming method in cake making and we have done chocolate chip muffins, marble pound cake and Devil’s food cake.

Yep, lots of baking also this time.

The second session for the day was all about mousse and meringue.

We’ve done a gorgeous chocolate Bavarian and a tiramisu with a rumy cream (oops, I’ve dropped a little bit more rum inside my cream 😉)

And for the first time ever I have done the Pavlova. It was just perfect. With a crisp crust and soft and very light inside.

What can I say? I’m really proud of my results so far.

Everything looked so good.

Those chocolate Bavarian cakes looks like the ones from the bakeries 😉

Next Sunday will be my last baking classes and will be all about custards and creams and of course choux pastry.

Sounds so so delicious 😋

  1. The chocolate Bavarian cakes do look like those baked by a bakery! Everything looks so pretty. I love how these classes teach you how to bake as well as plate and decorate food.

    1. Thank you very much 😁 Yes, beside teaching us how to make these wonderful sweets they also show us how to decorate and present them to our loved ones 😁 That’s really great ☺️

    1. Hahaha…you’ll be amazed how many things I’ve learned here that they call them “Italian” and back in Italy we even don’t know about their existence 🙈🙈
The Bavarian cake or cream I believe they call it in this way because of the way is done, is like a mousse, and because seems that was included in the repertoire of chef Marie-Antoine Carême…however first appeared in the United States 🙈🙈🙈😁😁😁
Very funny! But are really delicious 😋😋 and good looking ☺️
Thank you very much my dear 😁🌸

  2. You opening a bakery now? Oh I need a magic wand to turn these images into reality and I just want to have them all right away. Wow these look gorgeous and delicious. Drooling…

      1. Yes! I am looking forward to it. 😀 I would love to come to your town and have the taste of the delicious bakes. 🙂 yumm…

  3. Your baking creations are amazing. Did everyone’s look as good as yours? I can only imagine what my results would look like – probably like a Gaudi project.

    1. Hahaha…thank you very much! Yes, everyone’s were very similar, only decorations were different based on everyone’s wish ☺️ Pretty amazing for home bakers 😁

  4. What can I see, everything looks delicious again! How do you get the meringue to stand up? Every time I make meringue it collapses…

    1. Thank you very much Anna! The first and last time I’ve tried to make it at home it was rising so nice and then it collapsed 🙈 I have asked at the course why and it seems because the temperature in the oven it was too high…at the course we’ve baked them for like more than an hour at 80 degrees 😝

      1. Thanks Ribana. Do you have a tip for when you are whipping meringue as well? Mine is always too runny 🙁

      2. You’re most welcomed! Don’t be afraid to whip them up until stiff peaks 😉 when you turn upside down the bowl and the meringue doesn’t fall then you’re good to go ☺️😉

    1. It really is a mood lifter! When I go there I know that for 8 hours I don’t think at anything else, just baking and having fun 🤩 Is like meditating when you free your mind of all the mess 😝

  5. When is your next baking class? Let me know a day before and I will come over – can never say no to cake And until then, please send some over.🙂🙂

      1. Haha.😁 I wish I could say I stay close by. Singapore is my dream destination. But geographically speaking, India is close by.😉
I will try to come there by Sunday. If I start walking today, I might reach there by… some Sunday, if not this Sunday. 😂
