My Cooking Tip # 4

Hello my dear readers,

Here we are, with my fourth tip in the kitchen:

Prepare all your ingredients before cooking or baking.

In professional kitchens and restaurants cooks always set up their work stations and gather all ingredients necessary for the recipe, they measure them and chop and prepare them if needed.

I advise to do the same thing at home, as it seriously helps with organisation and I talk from my own experience 🤪. First, it will guarantee you never forget to add an ingredient and second, will save you time from running back and forth from the pantry several times.

  1. The kids just bought a samgyupsal stove this morning. Gonna try this tonight. They bought different kinds of sausages too. I also line up my ingredients when I cook. Thanks for these tips Ribana.

    1. I do it almost everyday but my cooking is always very fast 😉 Very rarely it happens to take me more than half an hour to cook and prepare the dinner 😉 Cooking sometimes is relaxing too 😉 and of course rewarding 😉 Thank you Hilary!

  2. I love your cooking tips. Whenever I cook a proper meal, I love to have all the ingredients right in front of me. There’s nothing worse than realising you are out of certain stuff half way through cooking 🙈 Thanks for sharing and have a good day 😀 Aiva

    1. Thank you very much Aiva! Oh yes, and even worst is if you realize you don’t have it and you don’t have a market or supermarket nearby to quickly buy the missing ingredients 🤪 and you already imagined yourself enjoying the result 🙈🤪
Have a lovely day too! 🌸

  3. Agree. And that’s why even when I’m not feeling good I prepare to be the one who manage the kitchen and cooking because if I live it to my husband and son… sigh, it looks like a bomb just exploded there. 😂

      1. Ooohhh that sounds delicious! I’ve always been too scared to try making risotto, thinking I won’t do it justice. 😬 Thanks for sharing your recipe. What’s your top tip for someone whose never made risotto? 😋👩🏽‍🍳

      2. I know seems scary but you may try my recipe, you’ll see is much easier than you think 😉 Top tip is to use the right rice 😉 Use Carnaroli or Arborio and always toast it a little bit before adding the broth 😉 Be patient and add just a ladle of broth at a time in order to not overcook the rice 😉
Let me know if you try it 😉 Is really easy and super delicious 😋

      3. Oooh nice! Thanks so much for the pro tips! Hopefully I can find one of those rices. Let me give it a go sometime and let you know how I go. Thanks again ☺️

      4. My pleasure! Carnaroli and Arborio are quite common rices so hopefully you’ll be able to find them as really is the fundamental for a good risotto 😉😋

  4. I love that tip, I always do that and its wonderful just having all the ingredients in front of you so when it’s time to actually cook, it’s just mix mix , chop chop , stir stir , and then eat!
