Friday Funday

Hello my dear readers,

Friday!

And because is Friday let’s have some fun 😉

Funny and real at the same time…I wish I could pay my bills with a hug…I guess hugs would make people more happy 😃

Haha…yep…is happening almost every day 🤪

From when this COVID-19 has invaded and changed our lives, I’ve wrote very little about it, but looking at what is happening around the world, I must admit that I’m glad I’m living in Singapore.

After a long and troublesome period, Singapore is planning for Phase 3, meaning easing more and more restrictions that were imposed to keep us safe against COVID-19.

Singapore is a city state where tourism has a huge contribution. But despite this, in order to protect its people and keep them safe, Singapore closed its borders and imposed a Circuit Breaker, meaning all activities were closed except essential services.

People were advised to not go out, not even for groceries, to not do gatherings and avoid all contacts with family or friends that are not living in the same household.

It was definitely not an easy period but was well worth it.

Even now, every time we enter in a restaurant or in a shopping mall or we go to the office, there are temperature checks and check-in/check-out in order to keep a record of visitors to all business venues and support contact tracing.

Masks are mandatory the moment you step out of your home and there are quite sensitive fines if someone is caught without it.

Yes, strict rules were imposed with important fines for who don’t respect them but today we have days with 0 cases or days with 1-2 COVID cases.

I’m not saying that all rules are all worth it as it always depends on who is making them…but in this case Kudos to Singapore, they made it work.

Yes, there’s the negative side that we cannot travel but with what is going on around us, nobody is willing to do it anyway.

I guess for now we’ll just continue to enjoy Singapore.

Have a wonderful weekend all!

What are your plans for the weekend?

Stay safe and relax!

  1. Oh my god my husband always pay the bills he borrowed with hugs! 😂
But so true. It’s so nice to leave footprint on someone’s face.
And I’m glad to read you’re doing fine where you are 🙂

  2. That is the way the entire world should have treated this virus! As for A Hug doesn’t pay the bills, I say hug them and send them off to work then the bills are paid! 🤣

  3. For time being yes, we have to adhere to rules which keep us away from this. Like the second image. I too want to leave my footprints on many faces. 😀
Happy Friday and Have an awesome Weekend.

  4. New Zealand created a lockdown similar to yours – it was rather restrictive for a few months – and the citizens fitted into different categories; which restricted one even further. We adopted “bubbles” and on the night the whole country went into Level 4 – the place you laid your head to sleep was your bubble. I’m home alone and was in my own personal bubble with some low key outside help.

We went down the levels to #1 and our only cases were in managed gov’t quarantine from those coming “home” …then out of the blue my region Auckland (Wellsford – Pukekohe) slid off back to L/3 due to a still unknown community outbreak. The rest of the country went to L/2.

Two days ago the whole country got back to L/1…
Hopefully we aren’t going to go backwards, but it’s not a known!

It’s certainly difficult to manage life, and the rules/restrictions keep changing…so I’ve more or less put together a kind of personal normalcy AND I have certainly changed a lot of how I live…maybe not a bad thing…

    1. Yes, is very difficult to manage it indeed as so far nothing is known….
Hopefully it will get better and better and you’ll not need to go backwards again!
I guess we all have a new personal normalcy now…we can adapt to almost everything if we wish 😉
      Stay well and safe! 🌸

  5. I love how your government deals with the effect of Covid. We are the highest in the region of Southeast. This government sucks.

  6. We had a lockdown just like Singapore and ended up with just one new case per day. As the restrictions eased, the numbers went up and as from yesterday, we are back into phase 3 lockdown. 🙈 have a good weekend. Have fun 👋😀 Aiva

  7. Hahaha hugging doesn’t pay the bills ! 😀 yes your second quote made me happy !! 😃🤗
Absolutely agreeing with the law and strategies Singaporeans followed !! 👌
Enjoy your evening as well !! Have a great weekend friend !! 💌

  8. It sounds like Singapore had some good intelligent people in the government. We could all learn from them! Personally, I’m still not getting out much, but then, I don’t have much to do! Thank goodness for Amazon!

  9. I think Singapore did it right, we should have shut our borders at the beginning but we kept allowing people in that had the virus. Now we’re getting a second wave which is seeing number soar higher than in the spring. And yet so many people refuse to follow the rules, but they seldom fine anyone here. Even in my little town numbers are climbing though still not bad yet. I probably won’t be going out too much this winter. Have a wonderful day Ribana!😀😺🌞

    1. I guess is not easy for a country to close its borders but otherwise is very difficult to stop it…☹️
Please stay safe Steve! Go out only the necessary! Better stay inside and cuddle with Muffin 😉😻 I’m sure she’ll appreciate it, right Muffin? 😼😻

      1. Meow, meow!=Yep, he help keep me warm!😹
Yes, I am definitely not going to take chances right now, not worth it.😳 Muffin is curled up on my lap right now.😁😸
That north wind is blowing strong and cold right now, snow isn’t far away!🥶

      2. Yes, not much, mostly flurries except one day it’s supposed to be 5cm. It’s actually kind of cold in here tonight although I don’t think Muffin notices!😄😸😻
