Hello my dear readers,
During this Covid situation lots of us rediscovered the “art” of cooking and baking.
I always loved to make my experiments in the kitchen and slowly, slowly some dishes I’ve managed to do them well, I even surprised myself sometimes.
Some of my recipes that I’m proud of:

Oh yes, that’s the exact expression ๐คช
I’m not an expert cook or baker but let’s say I’m quite ok at home cooking easy, fast and delicious dishes, so I was thinking to share some of my tips that I’ve learned during these years.
So here we are, my first tip in the kitchen:
Get a salad spinner and dry your salad before seasoning it.
Some may say that a salad spinner is not needed but believe me it is. Not only does a salad spinner make washing lettuces easy, but it dries it so much so more efficiently than towels ever could.
And if you are a salad lover you will know that wet greens are the enemies of salads everywhere. Even a little bit of water on your greens will repel the oils in salad dressing, preventing it from coating the leaves, instead the dressing will slide off and pool at the bottom of your bowl, where all that extra liquid will make the whole salad go soggy and limp faster and the result: a very tasteless and soggy salad.
How to avoid a tasteless and soggy salad?
Get a salad spinner, wash and dry your greens before seasoning and you will have a very delicious salad.

Do you use a salad spinner to dry your greens? Or how do you dry them?
Would love to know.
Have a lovely day!

You certainly make cooking and its presentation an art – no inverted commas ๐
Hahaha…thank you very much Derrick! Very appreciated! โบ๏ธ
What kind of seasoning do you use?
Most of the time I go with my kind of vinaigrette meaning: extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper ๐๐ Simple but delicious ๐
Sounds delicious!!! ๐
๐คabout that ๐ I wash and toss it inside fridge, ๐yes that’s true wet greens are the enemies, I realised it late ๐๐ธ but yes the tips are really helpful โจ๐ค and this is new โจ Have a wonderful day Ribana โจ๐
Nobody likes a soggy salad ๐ฅ๐คช
And youโre one of the healthy guys so Iโm sure you eat lots of greens ๐ฅฌ๐ With a salad spinner youโll not have anymore problems with wet greens ๐
Friday Simon ๐คฉ๐คฉ๐คฉ we made it ๐๐๐ Have a wonderful day ๐คฉ๐ค๐
Yes, I take lot of greens, mostly fresh from market, should have a spinner ๐ too and…๐Yay!!! Friday ๐คฉ We made it. Let’s have fun ๐ฅณin this beautiful Friday, and wish you an awesome weekend ahead โจ๐๐๐ค
Hope you had a wonderful weekend Simon! ๐๐คฉ
What a great tip! I can’t believe I never thought of that!
Thank you Michelle!
I rinse the leaves, load them in a tea towel, and take it out in the garden and swing my greens around like Xena. Hilarious, fast, and keeps the neighbours wondering about my mental state.
Hahaha ๐ youโre too funny ๐ That was pretty much my way too before I bought the salad spinner ๐คช
Haha… Maybe I should give the salad spinner a go!
And tranquilize a little bit the neighbors ๐คช๐
Thank you for the tips, they are great ๐
Thank you very much! Hope is useful ๐
Good post and recipes. Let’s see my tips for the kitchen along with recipes.
Thank you very much ๐
That is a very useful tip on the salad.
Thank you very much ๐
Here I thought it would be one more item to take up space in my cupboard and not be useful.๐ค Guess I can put away the hair dryer now.๐คช๐
Hahaha…it may take up a little space but is really very useful if you are a greens eater ๐
I must admit I don’t eat a lot of greens, probably should eat more. Though in the summer I do like my “wild” salads.๐
I consider greens part of my life ๐คช a day without veggies is not a day…hahaha…are very helpful in maintaining a good health ๐ and beside Muffin likes them too ๐๐ป
Right, you have a point,๐ค I do have veggies every day, just not the, um, salad type green stuff.๐ณ When I was able to have my favorite salad dressing then I ate salads a lot more. But they’re not so thrilling now. Sigh.๐
Hahaha…then you must find another salad dressing that you like and that you can eat ๐ Simple right? The best salad dressing is extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt & pepper…that’s it ๐
Lovely recipes! My son looked at it with me earlier and pointed at all the cakes haha ๐ Tip. noted <3
Hahaha…he knows whatโs good ๐๐
We don’t have a salad spinner, but I wish we did. The problem is that we have a tiny little kitchen, and if we got a salad spinner, we’d have to get rid of something else–like plates.
I have a small kitchen too and I understand…actually I only keep one pan in order to be able to keep also the salad spinner ๐ but is all worth it, especially because I use it every single day ๐คช

Thank you ๐ Iโm glad you like it ๐
