  1. Mmmmmm, love it.

Btw I didn’t like any potato salad I’ve tried in Germany, though they have excellent potato. I find it too strong, too sour, they put too much vinegar here.
We have it too in Serbia, and it’s very simple but much milder. Leek (instead of onions, much better taste…lots), salt, pepper and lemon juice. We eat it with fish.

      1. Yes.
We have it too, but ours takes a long time to make (no vinegar). You put cabbage in salty water in winter (needs to be cold) and wait a couple months. The cabbage turns sour with time. Then you make sour cabbage or salad. All natural, very tasty.
The one with vinegar makes no sense to me because it’s both sweet and sour. Time is crucial. With time it’s perfectly sour.

      2. Back home I remember my grandma used to do it the same in the winter months! Cabbage, water and salt for a few months and then we used to eat it seasoned just with a little bit of oil…was delicious 😋
She used to do the full cabbage that we used to make cabbage rolls or called “sarmale” and also shredded cabbage that we used to it as a salad or make stuffed peppers with it 😋 super delicious 😋

  2. Sadly not a potato fan, how delicious it looks 😍 maybe I’ll take a pinch and taste for my satisfaction 😋 You are so good at choosing bright pictures for your post! I must say that! Well done, well presented 😍 whoever has potato in their kitchen is going to have fun✨😉Have a beautiful day ✨💐🤗

    1. No potato chips, no potato salad right? 🤪 yep, you definitely are not a potato fan 🤪

  3. I prefer German potato salad to the kind with mayo (I am not a mayo fan). The vegetable broth thing is interesting.

    1. Thank you very much for sharing! Oh yes, with mayo is good too…actually I like potatoes on any way possible 🤪🥔
The broth it gives them a wonderful flavor 😉

  4. I love potatoes and pretty much can eat them in any shape and form. Living in Ireland I have had a chance to eat many amazing varieties of cooked potatoes and could never get enough 😂 thanks for sharing and have a good day 😀 Aiva

  5. I’ve never had a potato dish that I didn’t like and the potato salads that I have enjoyed in both Germany and Austria have been delicious. Thanks for the tip about nutmeg…I’ll give it a try.

  6. This is how the potato salad is eaten in the South. We do not add vinegar in Northern Germany at all. Not our cup of tea be honest, Mayo or salad cream is more common where I am from.

  7. I absolutely love potatoes. I like the way you’ve said it here. What potatoes do you use for salads like such? I prefer yukon gold.

    1. Thank you very much! I’m a potatoes lover too 😉
Honestly I don’t know exactly what kind of potatoes are, they say only white potatoes 🤪 but you may use Yukon Gold as have a fairly firm and moist texture 😉

      1. My pleasure friend. Thank you for the answer, though I’ve learned way before that no potato is lesser to a potato lover. No?
