What are you watching on Netflix?

Hello my dear readers,

Usually, before this Coronavirus situation, during the weekends, we always went out, walking and enjoying Singapore.

But now we’ve become couch potatoes watching Netflix 😉

We’ve recently seen Altered Carbon, an American cyberpunk TV series, based on a 2002 novel.

Here the Synopsis (taken from Wikipedia):

The series takes place over 360 years in the future, with most episodes set in the year 2384, in a futuristic metropolis known as Bay City. In the future, a person’s memories and consciousness can be decanted in a disk-shaped device called a cortical stack, which is implanted in the vertebrae at the back of the neck. These storage devices are of alien design and have been reverse engineered and mass-produced. Physical human or synthetic bodies are called “sleeves” and stacks can be transferred to new bodies after death, but a person can still be killed if their stack is destroyed. While this theoretically means anyone can live forever, only the wealthiest, known as “Meths” in reference to Methuselah, have the means to do so through clones and remote storage of their consciousness in satellites.

Takeshi Kovacs, a political operative with mercenary skills, is the sole surviving soldier of the Envoys, a rebel group defeated in an uprising against the new world order. In the first season, set 250 years after the Envoys are destroyed, his stack is pulled out of prison by 300-year-old Meth Laurens Bancroft, one of the wealthiest men in the settled worlds. Bancroft offers him the chance to solve a murder—Bancroft’s own—to get a new shot at life. In the second season, set 30 years later, Kovacs, now in a new sleeve, continues to search for his lost love and Envoy leader Quellcrist Falconer.

And here the Altered Carbon Season 1 Trailer

Well, my readers would know by now that I want to live forever, just because I’m too curious to see what will happen in the future and this TV series was just perfect for me 😉

The idea of having a stack that allows you to live forever is not bad at all! Our scientists people should consider it 😉

So if you want to see something different and interesting, Altered Carbon may be a good choice 😉

The two seasons received generally positive reviews so maybe a third season may come 😉

Wish you a wonderful day!

And please stay at home and stay safe!

  1. As a writer and a musician, i take walks to watch nature and collect themes. Some of these i add to my pre-existing thoughts. I see the Netflix box when i pick up groceries and my snacks at the store. I have a pre-existing condition,,,,ptsd that hinders me from staying at home as the conditions exist in America. I am very high on immune systems. I detox several times a week. My Netflix is watching cattle and nature.

    1. That’s great! Having the possibility to live nearby nature is great! Nature is my happy and relaxing place!
But currently, living in an apartment and without the possibility to go out…Netflix is a good solution 😉

  2. Hi Ribana! We just got Netflix a couple days ago because of COVID-19. I watched a pointless baking show the other day (binge-watched the whole thing in a day), finished watching the one season of Marie Kondo, and watched a couple of documentaries. I try to watch things where I can learn something, but I am beginning to see why Netflix can be addictive!

    1. Hi Hilary, I’ve seen a few very interesting documentaries too…most on nature and food but not cooking strangely 🤪
However, yes, can be very addictive…if previously we almost did not know of the existence of the TV in the house, now, especially because during the weekends we stay home, it can be very addictive but fun too….I think their documentaries are much better done than their movies 🤪🤪 I recommend Rotten…very interesting 😉

  3. Will watch this series. Sounds cool. Thank you for the recommendation. I have been watching Korean movies not on Netflix though. Nowadays a movie a day is a goal 😀 😛

  4. Oh that Stay at home 🤓 Happy watching and stay at home days Ribanna, do follow some homeworkouts and never have more than 3 days without a workout, that actually Will make us lazy 😜. Love the recommendation, surely have a look at that. Happy stay-at-home days✨🤗💐Have a beautiful day ✨💐

    1. Thank you Simon! I start my everyday with a workout 🏋️‍♂️ Is the first thing I do in the morning at 6:30 am…after that breakfast and I’m ready for work 😉
I can’t change my routine, otherwise yes, I become lazy 🤪
Have a wonderful day Simon! Stay safe and stay healthy! 😉🤩

  5. I just finished Lucifer, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I’ve been searching for the next thing to binge. tried a couple of shows, and I think Vikings is going to fill the gap for a while. I’ll give Altered Carbon a go too.

  6. Having given up on The Crown we may be tempted to go back to it; otherwise Hinterland is a moody detective series set in North Wales. There is minimal dialogue and much brooding 🙂

    1. You know that time ago I’ve started to watch The Crown too…I have only seen a few episodes and then I did not had time for it…but now I guess it’s a good time 😉
Thanks for reminding me Derrick 😉

  7. Not a netflix person. But the synopsis of Altered Carbon looks interesting. That’s a surprise, I was also thinking one day, what if our memories/mind are stored somewhere like a hard disk and we can then live forever and you said it – Stack. Loved reading. Thank you for sharing. 🙂

    1. That’s great! I’m not the only one having this kind of thoughts 🤪
Stack is a great way 😉
If you have the chance go for it, it’s very interesting 😉

  8. You reminded me that I need to catch up on some of my Netflix shows! I’ve been watching Hulu more and forgot about Netflix. 🤣🤣

  9. I’ll definitely watch it. Just finished watching STUMPTOWN on hulu. I love things like the above trailer. So I’ll be checking it out. Thank you.

  10. Nothing makes it more refreshing that a long relaxing stroll. I don’t have Netflix but I’m binge watching TV shows (rewatch movies too) this series sounds interesting… i will check it out

    1. We’ve gave up on TV a long time ago because first was too expensive and second they only showed us what they wanted…and we’ve switched to Netflix 🤪
I’m not very much into series or movies but I love documentaries…and Netflix has really a lot 🤪 and in between a series or a movie is not bad 🤪

      1. Yes I know. I’ve seen a couple series from Netflix but now is not the time to have subscription.
We also got no TV for the same reasons 😂
