Hello my dear readers,
How was your week?
I’m something like this today
Luckily is Friday š
I want to keep it short but I must say something!
I believe you know that WHO (The World Health Organisation) declared this week (Wednesday, March 11) the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak a pandemic.Ā
What does this mean?Ā
You donāt need to freak out. Let me explain.
An outbreak becomes an epidemic when it widespread in a particular country, sometimes in a particular region.
Whereas a pandemic is a wide geographic spread in many parts of the world, many continents.
That’s the difference.
It matters how is called just because āepidemicā and āpandemicā imply different approaches to health crisis.Ā
Unfortunately, reading a lot of fellow bloggers around the world, I understand fake news are very widespread as well, it is a pandemic, and this is a huge problem too.
Iām speechless that even in this situations while people are dying, others are thinking to spread fake news, and for what Iām wondering?
Do these people get paid for spreading fake news? It will be really alarming!
For what I am concern, I am a foreigner living in a country where fake news doesnāt exist! In Singapore there is a Fake News Law, that seeks to prevent the electronic communication of falsehoods. The regulations and penalties against fake news are so high that if caught, youāll think twice before stating anything which is not real.Ā And I completely agree!Ā
However, I have just received an email with very useful information which all of us should know and I would like to share it very quickly with you.
Please read below! It will not take too much of your time I promise!
An infectious disease specialist at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Dr Leong Hoe Nam, answers questions that you may have on the COVID-19 novel coronavirus.
What are the symptoms of COVID-19 novel coronavirus?
Symptoms of the virus include:
- Fever
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Muscle aches
- Breathlessness ā At about day 5 ā 7 of having a fever, patients have reported feeling increasingly breathless.
How it is transmitted the COVID-19 novel coronavirus?
Virus transmission happens via droplets from the spit, cough or sneezes and contact by touching a surface with infectious secretions.Ā
In both cases, one can be infected by the virus coming in contact with his eyes, nose or mouth but it is still not clear how quickly this can happen.Ā
How to prevent the spread of COVID-19 novel coronavirus
- Stay home as much as possible
- Avoid crowded places with huge groups of people
- Wash your hands regularly with soap and water. I know you think is a silly thing but I would like to inform you that globally, 4 out of 5 people DO NOT wash their hands after using the bathroom!
- Avoid touching any part of your face without first washing your hands
- Keep clean and disinfect your home, office
- Wear a mask if you are feeling unwell or displaying flu symptoms
- Seek treatment if you are feeling unwell and donāt go to work or school
And I know nowaydas fake news about the cure of COVID-19 are circulating everywhere and I know is not a good news but at the moment,
there is no vaccine or cure for the virus.
Please ignore the fake news and do all you can to prevent the spread of this nasty virus.
The best thing you can do is STAY AT HOME.
Take it as a long weekend, you can relax, read, watching movies, writing blog posts, you can do a lot of things at home!
Wish you a wonderful weekend!
Stay at home, get a good rest and stay safe!

Some people like spreading fake news.i donāt know when things will come back to normal. Letās pray for the best šš»šš»šš».
I hope and wish everything will go back to ānormalā soon! In the meantime, what we need to do is not believing in fake news and stay safe! ššŖš»
Yes…thatās what we can do at least.
“Stay at home, get a good rest and stay safe!” Ha ha. That is exactly what people does. Thanks a lot for sharing this great information. I think you are too much exhausted as from your Gifš¦. Take rest. Take care.šš
A difficult week I can say…Friday usually Iām exhausted š¤£
Is incredible but seems not everyone can stay at home, get a good rest and stay safe! š„ŗ
Stay safe and have a wonderful weekend! ššŖš»
Thanks for your wishes Ribanaš
Great info Ribana! Stay healthy, stay safe, and yes I agree, stay at home!
Thank you very much Mel! Staying home is so great š we can focus on our hobbies ššø Have a wonderful weekend!
Thanks very much, Ribana. Keep well.
Thank you Derrick! Stay safe! šŖš»
Thanks for sharing. Spreading fake news only adds more unnecessary stress and while most of people are more concerned about cancelled holidays, it’s time we start discussions why coronavirus outbreak started in the first place and what can we do to avoid it in the future.
Thank you very much! Very true! People should treat this very seriously!
We are taking as many precautions as possible. At my job, there’s sanitizer at the front door. We must use it before entering the building. We also had to take classes that talk about other preventative measures (such as washing hands, wearing disposable gloves, mask, etc).
And thank you for discussing the fake news situation. It’s absolutely uncalled for and unfair to those who are affected (as well as those living in affected areas).
Very true! People should stop spreading fake news! Are so unhealthy and so unnecessary in these moments!
Iām glad that some take it very serious! This is what everyone should do! Stay safe!
We have to wonder what’s WRONG with people. I’m afraid there is no answer to that question. I think we should have a law against fake news, with high penalties as well. But then the president would NEVER BE ABLE TO SPEAK and how wonderful that would be. Great post. š
Haha haha…yes I guess if every country would have a law against fake news, lots of people couldnāt be able to speak anymore! But that will be great after all! š
That would be wonderful and no one would have to ever wonder who was lying and who wasn’t. Politicians would be far and few between.
I guess would be a better world š
Great advice Sweetheart š
Thank you very much! Stay safe! šŖš»
You are sharing a great information at this time of crisis Corona is causing! Yes prevention is better than cure and we should be aware of fake news !! Take care !!! š
Thank you Suni! Stay safe and take care! Have a great weekend! ššø
Not to bad, Thank you, how was yours? š
I guess the gif is pretty obvious š¤Ŗ
Very good info to share Ribana! Yes, there is way too much fake news around about this virus and too many people actually believe it. Stay home and stay safe is the best. Have a good week Ribana!ššŗš
Thank you very much Derrick! Yes, unfortunately people believe this fake news….that’s very sad ā¹ļø
I wish I could stay home too but here no lock down, everything is as per normal, going to work everyday, just with a few more precautions…
Wish you a wonderful week too and stay safe both of you! šš»
Thanks Ribana!ššŗ
