Versatile Blogger Award

Another award 😊 What can I say? I’m really grateful to receive another new nomination for the Versatile Blogger Award” from Huguette. I really appreciated it. Is really an honour for me to receive this award.

If you don’t know Huguette don’t waste anymore time and go and find her. She is a wonderful “person who loves to express different feelings and thoughts in writing”. What I like most of Huguette is that she’s not afraid to tell you how the real things are. This for me is a great trait that is quite difficult to find nowadays. Visit her blog and you’ll not leave disappointed.

The Versatile Blogger Award was created to celebrate blogs who have unique content, strong writing, and beautiful images or photographs.

The Rules:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you.
  2. Link to the blog of the person who nominated you.
  3. Unveil seven facts about yourself.
  4. Nominate other bloggers that bring joy into your daily life.

7 things about me

Well, that I love dogs, that nature is my relaxing place, I love to delect myself in the kitchen sometimes and I would love to be a tourist forever, you already know. What else could I tell you about myself? As Huguette told me, I need to dig deeper 🧐

Ok, let’s see…

I was borne and raised in Arad, situated in the western extremity of Transylvania, Romania, quite a few years back 🙄. So yes, my ancestor was him, Vlad the Impaler or better known as Count Dracula 🤪. My parents were busy working and did not have time for me and my sister, 10 years older, was too busy enjoying her childhood. But even so I was a lucky girl: I had the most amazing grandparents in the world. Only thanks to them I am the person who I am today. Basically I’ve spent all my childhood traveling from one grandparents to the others. My maternal grandparents lived near Arad, in a small countryside. They used to have a small little house made from mudbrick. Inside, in summer time, it felt cooler by several degrees, and in winter time was warm and cozy. They had a huge garden and a lot of animals. I loved seeing the vegetables and fruits growing from seeds and becoming amazing plants 🌱. It was my heaven, a countryside little girl. Basically our market was the garden. And the taste of that veggies and fruits, you even cannot imagine. Nothing compared with the supermarkets. My paternal grandparents used to live at 400km distance, in Brasov, a mountain city located in the central part of the country. My paternal grandpa was a war veteran. He was injured in the war and lost his hearing. When finally was at home, as a compensation from the government he received free train tickets that he could use traveling with a companion, but only for that trains that goes very slow and stops in every single station. Was not a problem for us. We had plenty of time 😊. We used to do 3, 4 trips per year between Arad and Brasov. I’ve enjoyed a lot these train trips. Usually was a day trip with over 40 stops 😊 I used to sit there near the window watching the wonderful country running by. I will always remember it.

Since I used to have a lot of flu when I was a little girl, they gave me a lot of injections. We had a neighbour which was a nurse, Dr. Selejan, and she used to come in the morning and in the evening to give me the injections. I hated her. When people asked me what I want to become when I’ll grow up I used to say a doctor to give Dr. Selejan injections 🤪

Growing up, I’ve changed my mind because was enough to see a little blood to make me faint, so I’ve studied engineering. I have more than 10 years working experience but I’ve never worked as an engineer.

I have met my husband in a period of my life when I’ve given up and I’ve stopped dreaming. With him by my side, I’ve learned again how beautiful life is 💕

I’m not good at technology at all. I don’t like and I don’t know how to change settings on my phone, tablet or laptop. I just use them and that’s it. And I find that Apple products are wonderful from this point of view. I love how the whole system is working and how all devices are connected between each other without any needs from my side 😝

On the other side, I’m using WordPress for quite a few months now but even now I’m not sure if bloggers receive a notification that I’ve put a link of their blog in my post. Hmmm, who knows? 🤔

Italy is my heart home. The most delicious food, all kind of particularly small shops: the bakery, the pastry shops, the butcher, the squares, the bars, the markets, the fashion, I simply love it.

My dream is to have a cottage by the sea, with a garden and a lot of dogs. 🐶🐶🐶

Oh and I love high heels 👠

Huguette, I think I’ve dug quite deep 😳

Sorry for my poor writing. When I think it, it sounds so nice in my mind and when I try to put it down, I cannot find my words 🥺 Can we transfer out thoughts on paper? That will be great for me 🤪

Thank you again Huguette and thank you all for your wonderful support 💕

Happy blogging all! 💕

      2. Good morning Huguette! Oh I’m really sorry! After reading your posts I know what you went through…😖 I really appreciate you for the wonderful and kind person you are! Thank you 😊 🤗

      3. Don’t worry at all 😊 I was never envious and never used my circumstances to dim others lights or act in a rude way (If I ever did at certain point, I worked hard to wipe them out) Appreciate your appreciation more than you know <3 😊 🤗

  2. Hey Ribana, first and foremost congratulations on your Award and it was good to read your answers, isn’t Arad quite close to the Hungarian border? I holidayed in Romania many years ago and loved the countryside.

It ‘s good that you have got your dreams back 🙂

If any consolation to you, l am also a technophobe, l use the equipment, but l know very little of the behind the screen technology.

Also many thanks for the gift of the award to me, l shall try to write it up this week 🙂

    Thanks again.

    1. Thank you Rory! Yes, yes, it is at around 50km from Hungary! In fact a lot of Hungarians live in Arad 😊 my aunt included 😊 When I was little, beside the grandparents I had a neighbor that used to take care of me and she only knew to speak Hungarian, so I learned it very quickly. Sadly after I moved away, I did not speak it anymore so I’ve lost it 😖. Romania, it is a beautiful country, wonderful nature, sad for the government 😖 Great to know that I’m not alone in this today’s technology battle 😊 Thank you for taking the gift and have a wonderful day tomorrow 😊

      1. Thank you Ribana, of course it must be early morning for you now, around 7.20am l would say – so have a great Thursday morning and afternoon 🙂

      1. W didn’t visit Brain – partly due to limited time, and also we were just so utterly amazed by Peles. It is an absolute treasure – we did not want to leave!

  3. Congratulations. That was such a lovely insight. Sad in places. Heartwarming in others. I hope you eventually get your cottage by the sea. Keep dreaming and thank you for sharing 🙂
