Hummus, the perfect dip

Homemade hummus is very easy to make and it tastes much better than anything you can buy at the store. If you don’t have any tahini, you can simply make it as is nothing else than a paste made from sesame seeds. Or if you don’t like tahini you can simply just let it out.

A simple and easy Middle Eastern food for a perfect dip.

In a food processor, puree the chickpeas (I’ve used one can of chickpeas) and one clove of garlic with olive oil, lemon juice, roasted sesame seeds and a pinch of salt until smooth and creamy. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons chickpeas water as necessary to achieve the desired consistency.

Transfer to a bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with the paprika and sesame seeds before serving.

Hummus calories are substantial, but since hummus is made from nutritious ingredients, it provides your body with healthy nutrients. When you eat hummus you’re giving your body healthy fiber, healthy carbohydrates, healthy fats and very little sugar.

  1. I can relate 😊 Hummus is in every Lebanese house! We prepare it at home (because some people buy it in a can) and it’s extremely delicious! Thank you for sharing 😊
