Veggies

Are you eating your veggies?

Here in Singapore is not very common to eat fresh veggies, they do eat them but only cooked. In fact, every time they see us eating fresh salads they give us a strange look… 👀

However, for us salad is a necessity, specially because is always hot, so eating fresh fruits and veggies is also refreshing. What’s better in a hot summer day than some mozzarella with fresh tomatoes, peppers, celery, fennel, lettuce, everything seasoned with some extra virgin olive oil, salt, pepper and balsamic vinegar.

Singapore imports over 90% of the food consumed in the country due to limited land but there are also vertical farms and community farms and produce 8% of all the vegetables.

I miss a little bit the farmers market from back home but even so, we still can find all the fruits and veggies. 😊😋

Enjoy your veggies!

  1. Wow. Depending on import for 90% of one’s food seems frightening to me. Of course, we are already importing a great deal ourselves. Now I am curious how much.
