Hong Kong

November is a special month for me. First because we have a tradition in meeting our friends from Italy in Hong Kong and second because is my birthday. My husband and his friend started this tradition several years back and after a few years the wives were included too, lucky us ☺️ Wherever we are in the world we know that in November we meet all together for a weekend. It is always short but so emotional. It is so wonderful to spend time with lovely friends.

This time we’ve visited Tai O Village, an old fishing village located in the western coast of Lantau Island. Can be easily reach by 30 minutes ferry, 40 minutes taxi or 50 minutes bus ride from Tung Chung MTR station. Ah and if you opt for the ferry ride there are high chances to see the pink dolphins 🐬 Yes pink! And we saw them for a short while and of course the surprise was so huge I even did not have time to take a picture.

In the Thai O Fishing Village you can see the daily life in traditional stilt houses, one of the few places were you still can see them in Hong Kong, walk around the seafood market, one of the favorite places for locals to buy their fresh and dried seafood, or take a boat ride around the harbour. Definitely worth it.

We’ve dine at Aqua restaurant which serves Italian and Japanese cuisine but we choose it mostly for the view. It has an amazing view, can see the whole Victoria Harbour. Really spectacular.

And last day we went to Ozone, one of the highest rooftop sky bar in the world, located at 118th level of The Ritz-Carlton, speechless…I cannot describe the amazing view.

  1. Wow, what an amazing adventure. My husband has a cousin who lives in Hong Kong. She is Italian/English and works over there as an anesthesiologists. The world is really small if you think about it. I believe every human being is connected in some way or another through friends, family, and neighbors. Oh and Happy birthday. I wish I could keep up with more bloggers but it is hard reading so many post. Love the photos, thanks for sharing.
